During this roundtable, we will discuss the skills needed for the development of the European rail sector, its attractiveness to young people (both as passengers and employees) and the need to attract new talent.

How does STAFFER (European Rail Skills Alliance) address these challenges? What is the role of Member States in defining national education policies and the relationship with the needs of businesses? What are the skills challenges facing the rail sector and how are industry and operators preparing to address them? What role can institutions, in particular the European Commission, play within the framework of their competencies and the European Skills 2023 initiative? How can we jointly engage civil society and promote rail transport (as both a mode of transportation and as a profession) to youth?
